South Africa proud of Mamelodi Sundowns

South Africa is proud of their team Mamelodi Sundowns for representing the country very well against other African countries in the continent. The team won the CAF Champions League and the CAF Super Cup meaning that they equalled Orlando Pirates’ record. The PSL is also proud of these achievements and now waiting for SuperSport United FC to do the same in the CAF Confederations Cup.

SuperSport United are facing TP Mazembe of DRC in the final of the CAF Confederations Cup. They are ready to win it as their coach eric Tinkler felt too much pain when he lost it while coaching Pirates where he played a Tunisian team in the final and lost. Tinkler indicated that it is time he get what belongs to him back as he felt it was not fair back then for him not to win it.

Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club will be heading in to their second leg final game of the CAF Champions League against Zamalek of Egypt on Sunday evening with a lot of support behind them in South Africa and Egypt. The rivalry between Egyptian teams Zamalek and Al Ahly is the reason Sundowns will benefit from the support of Al Ahly fans on Sunday.

More than half of Egyptians are Al Ahly fans and they have never supported Zamalek even when they are playing against a team from outside of Egypt. The rivalry between Zamalek and Al Ahly is one of the best rivalry in the history of football around the world.

The Al Ahly fans have already made their own Sundowns flags and they are ready to support the Pretoria side come Sunday evening. The stadium will be full of Zamalek Supporters and Sundowns supporters which will be including Al Ahly fans. The atmosphere at the stadium will be more than interesting.

On the other hand, the Sundowns boss Mr. Patrice Motsepe has jetted 140 Sundowns supporters from South Africa to Egypt to support their team for their first challenge of the CAF Champions League trophy since being beaten in the final by Al Ahly back in 2003.

Bafana Bafana coach Mr. Shakes Mashaba has already departed for Egypt to support Mamelodi Sundowns. All South Africans are behind Sundowns and cannot wait for Sunday evening to witness history being repeated away from home after Orlando Pirates did the same in 1995 in Abidjan against Asec Mimosa in the same competition.

With a lot of support from Egyptians, Sundowns will feel more comfortable and the distraction about being denied a training pitch on their arrival will not affect them at all. The South African flag will be on the stands on Sunday including homemade Sundowns flags made by Al Ahly supporters.

South African football will never be the same if SuperSport United should win the CAF Confederations Cup. Bafana Bafana will also benefit. The PSL’s reputation will also be going up the tables as they are now in the top 10 in the world. South African players will be respected in the world of football especially if Bafana Bafana could just beat Senegal twice and qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
