Black Leopards coach left the team due to management interference

Black Leopards FC coach Lusciano left the Limpopo NFD team due to the fact that during his stint at the team he experienced a lot of problems with management where they controlled everything including team selection. Lusciano questioned them why they hired him at the first place if they can coach the team by themselves. he has now joined a new team in the NFD where he has full control of the team as a coach.

Black Leopards Football Club is one of the best teams in the history of South African football in general. The team is currently playing in the National First Division (NFD). The team also had a few seasons in the PSL where they played great football until they were relegated to the NFD where they are currently struggling to get automatic qualification to the PSL by winning the NFD league. Below are the reasons why Black Leopards are failing to get promotion to the PSL.

Interference by management to the selection of players:

A lot of coaches who coached Black Leopards will tell you that the management which comprises of father and son is always hands on when it comes to the selection of players to play in matches. All the previous coaches of Black leopards including Gavin Hunt have experienced the same problem and it seems the problem is not going away soon as Mr. David Thidiela and his son Tshifhiwa are always involved in coaches’ job.

For one the Thidielas should just give the full responsibility of the team to the coach and hire external management to make sure everything is run professionally in the team. They should also give themselves enough time to make sure the talent search in Limpopo is conducted every year as there are a lot of youngster out there who are talented and waiting for opportunities to play professional football.

When it comes to buying players, the management should engage with the technical team before making their own decisions on who to sign and who to release. There are a lot of players who were released without proper reasons and up until today fans are still wondering what might have happened.

Lack of tactical planning and approach:

By looking at how the Black Leopards team play, it is very easy to spot that there are still a lot of things to be corrected tactically especially when the team has managed to get to the final spots to score goals. Most of the players at Black Leopards are not good enough to carry the team to the PSL and as a result they lack motivation to do well from the start of the season until the end.

The senior players are not living up to standards on the field of play and without their knowledge and experience the team is going nowhere. There are times where responsibilities are shifted to inexperienced players as a result of lacking self-esteem. There are things that could not be given full responsibility to teenagers on the field of play no matter how good they are with the ball.

Keeping same players for too long:

The Black Leopards team is one of the easiest teams to be predictable to opponents. They have kept a lot of players over the seasons and it s about time they release mostly senior players especially those who have attracted interest from PSL teams.

Players like Sphelele Ntshangase, Rogert Nyundu, Marks Munyai and Junior Munganga wee kept for too long and their hearts were no longer with the team as they knew PSL teams were after their services, so it was not a good idea to keep them.
