SuperSport United are now going to release their lethal striker Jeremy Brockie only if they win the Champions League. The team will be playing the final of the CAF Confederations Cup against TP Mazembe of DRC. The first leg will be played in DRC while the second leg will be played in Pretoria.
The New Zealand international is one of the most wanted players in the PSL currently and the fact that he was not selected for the New Zealand national team that is playing in the FIFA Confederations Cup is a very big surprise as his teammate Michael Boxall was selected and is currently playing in the tournament meaning that he will miss the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates on Saturday as New Zealand will be playing Portugal.
He has only played for SuperSport United in South Africa and is now ready to play for other top sides in the PSL. One of the big 3 in Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates might end up with Brockie in their team if they end up meeting the demands by SuperSport United for their striker. At 29, Brockie is still one of the best strikers in the PSL and has shown a lot of brilliancy when it comes to scoring goals.
Brockie joined SuperSport United in 2015 and since then he has not looked back as he has collected a few trophies with the team and is looking to add another one on Saturday against Orlando Pirates. He has scored a few goals against Orlando Pirates and is still going to do the same when the 2 sides meet in Durban on Saturday.
Jeremy has worked with a few coaches at SuperSport United and the arrival of Eric Tinkler is not a problem to him as he knows his job very well which is scoring goals. He is looking forward to work with Eric Tinker who had a successful season with Cape Town City FC as they won the Telkom Knockout Cup and they finished in the top 5 in the Absa Premiership.
Jeremy’s interest in joining one of the big 3 will also help his international career with New Zealand as he is looking forward to be part of the world cup squad which will travel to Russia come next year. The fact that he was left out of the team currently playing in the Confederations Cup has fueled his desire to join one of the big teams in South Africa.
With Sundowns and Pirates, Jeremy will have enough exposure to the rest of the world as most countries are familiar with the 2 teams due to their success in CAF competitions. He has scored 10 goals last season for SuperSport united and is looking forward to score more goals in the PSL probably becoming the leading goals scorer. He is currently the leading goal scorer in the CAF Confederations Cup with 7 goals.
Fans of the big 3 are expecting to see Brockie in their team for next season. Kaizer Chiefs has released a lot of players indicating that they were in serious rebuilding stage which may include signing Jeremy Brockie. The signature of Brockie at Naturena would be one of the highlights for Chiefs fans as they are aware of his coring abilities meaning that the team will win trophies in the new season.
Brochie has been recalled by the New Zealand national team and is looking forward to be a permanent member of the team.
