Mamelodi Sundowns’ problems in the PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns are currently experiencing a lot of problems as their senior players are not happy with how things are run at the team. Some players are not happy with the fact that Oupa Manyisa and George Lebese who joined the team at the start of the current season are treated special that the rest of the players who helped the team win the PSL and the CAF Champions League.

Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club were the defending champions of both the Absa Premiership and the CAF Champions League. They are now left with nothing to defend as they were beaten by Bidvest Wits who won the Absa Premiership. The team is now trying their all to try and get back to their winning ways but things are not well with players as they are now seeking moves away from the team.

The technical team were said to be looking for possible replacement during the transfer window but no one was signed by the Sundowns team except for the Algerian left back who was signed from the Algerian side which is playing in the Algerian league and Oupa Manyisa as well as George Lebese who are now the cause of the current situation.

The reason for Sundowns to signing Fares Hachi was also part of the new changes in the team and there are going to be internal change of playing positions in the team. The Sundowns technical team is one of the best when analyzing football and players’ abilities. Now that Rhulani has joined Pirates as an assistant to Micho, things have gone from bad to worse for Pitso Mosimane as some of the players are looking at following Rhulani at Pirates.

The signing of Fares was one of the best moves where Sundowns will be using Fares as a left back and push Teboho Langerman to close the gap left by Keagan Dolly in midfield. Teboho played the same role played by Dolly while at Wits and when he first came to Sundowns.

This means that the combination that was known as the CBD now will be changed to CBL which will be made of Castro Billiat and Langerman. Teboho was surprisingly used as a left back by Pitso Mosimane at Sundowns and has established the position as his own. He has also been recalled in the national team Bafana Bafana as a left back.

Sundowns also have Thapelo Morena whom they signed from Bloemfontein Celtic. Thapelo has played as a winger for Celtic and has done very well. He has played a few games for Sundowns as a winger and has not disappointed. With time he will get used to the system played by Sundowns.

The rumour that Khama Billiat was also on his way out of Sundowns before the closing of the transfer window yesterday emerged as not true. Billiat will continue playing as a Sundowns players and that is good news for the Pretoria based side as they cannot afford to lose both their attackers during the current stage in the PSL.

Percy Tau is also another player who could do well in Dolly’s position as Castro is back from injury and will be able to continue with his duties upfront. Tau has impressed for Sundowns in all games he played as he performed very well and scored vital goals as well.

With only Dolly gone from the Sundowns team that won the CAF Champions League, Sundowns can start focusing on their PSL fixtures. It won’t be that easy to replace Dolly but there are players who are capable of doing what Dolly was doing and even more than what Dolly was doing for Sundowns. It all depends on the plans set aside by the technical team.

Pitso and Sundowns are now facing difficulties as there are players whose contracts are ending at the end of the season as they have already indicated that they will not renew their contracts at the team if there are still players who are treated special that them. They are unhappy that Manyisa and Lebese are given preference that the rest of the players who helped the team to conquer the PSL and the African continent as a whole.
