The Absa Premiership is currently back from the FIFA break and the teams are already back in training as there is only a few days left for them to resume with their league campaign. Let us look at all the teams in the Absa Premiership and analyze each team accordingly:
Ajax Cape Town Football Club
The Ajax team is very averaged currently and struggling a bit. They had a few top players released for top Gauteng side at the end of last season. The likes of Mobara and Norodien are no longer with the team and they were the heart and balance of the team. This team might not even make the top 8 if things don’t change for better. Stanley Menzo their Dutch coach is trying his best.
Baroka Football Club
The Baroka team is currently sitting at the bottom of the league and a lot was expected from them as the coach promised fans to win the league and another trophy in their first season. Now they have to fight for survival and the replacement of Goloko as the coach might be the worse decision ever made by the management. They might be relegated if they don’t start winning matches.
Bidvest Wits Football Club
They are fighting to win the league and their coach Gavin Hunt is known to be the coach who specialize in winning league titles. They might end in the top 4 if they don’t win the league.
Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club
The Bloemfontein based side is currently not playing well and the reasons range from poor management decisions. It seems the Celtic management are not true football fans as they just release players without knowing that they are losing top quality talent. Garbadinho Mhango who is currently playing for Bidvest Wits is one of the players who were released for free. Celtic might not make it to the top 8 if they don’t pull up their socks.
Chippa United Football Club
The Eastern Cape team is currently doing well in the PSL and are one of the sides who might surprise people when the league comes to an end. Dan Malesela has managed to build a team of youngsters who are hungry for success. The team management is always giving full support to the players and the coach. They are top 5 material.
Cape Town City Football Club
The new side has already won themselves a trophy in the PSL and they are currently siting second after Supersport United in the league log. Their coach Eric Tinkler also indicated that they are also looking forward to winning the league title. They are top 6 material and may surprise people with another trophy soon.
Free State Stars Football Club
The team is playing to keep their PSL status as the owner indicated before the start of the season that it was becoming difficult for him to run the team so he has been planning on selling the team for a long time now. Moroka Swallows bosses are still on the side to buy the team. They are definitely going to retain their status and be in the top 8.
Golden Arrows Football Club
The team has been in the PSL for a number of seasons but they were also once relegated and managed to come back. The team might also go back to the NFD again if the style used by management is anything to go by.
Amazulu Football Club
The new team in the PSL is currently doing well and they are looking forward to secure their PSL status.
Kaizer Chiefs Football Club
The team is currently sitting at number 4 and they are looking at the possibility of winning the title. They are top 8 material and will not win the league with the kind of players they have.
Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club
The defending champions are also the African champions and they are looking at defending everything they have. They are definitely going to win the league title.
Maritzburg United Football Club
The team is currently not doing badly but if things don’t change they might find themselves in a similar situation to that of last season where they missed relegation in their last game of the season.
Orlando Pirates Football Club
The team does not have direction currently and they are the top 8 material. They will not win the league.
Platinum Stars Football Club
The team is not doing badly and they also face the possibility of play-offs if they don’t pull up their socks.
Polokwane City Football Club
The Polokwane side are having one of their best season in the PSL. They are currently on comfortable position and just have to collect enough points to secure themselves a spot in the top 8.
Supersport United Football Club
Supersport United are still sitting at the top of the table and are hoping to continue collecting enough points to win the title. They are top 3 material and will not win the league.
