Cape Town City FC to sign Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper in January

Football agent Tim Sukazi has confirmed that Cape Town City are interested in signing Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo.

According to Khuzwayo’s agent, City has already made contact with him over the availability of the South Africa international, but he told them he would only be able to talk to them in January 2018.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper is fast aproaching the final six months of his current deal with Amakhosi, but given his lack of game time, he could well decide against renewing his contract with them.

Sukazi revealed that they have already opened talks with Amakhosi, before adding that the Soweto giants have the first option.

He further stated that Chiefs want to secure Khuzwayo’s future before the end of the year.

“Yes, it is true that Cape Town City have shown interest in the services of Khuzwayo. They phoned me two months ago but I told them that I can only be able to talk to them in January. Right now Khuzwayo is contracted to Chiefs and they have the first option. We will continue with the talks with Chiefs after league matches in December,” Sukazi told The Star.

“As I said, Chiefs want to secure Khuzwayo’s future before the end of December and it is still the case,” Sukazi stated.

Khuzwayo’s lack of game time isn’t surprising to the majority of Chiefs fans, as captain Itumeleng Khune has been in scintillating form over the past few years.
