Bidvest Wits are believed to have shown an interest in trying to lure Khama Billiat to Braamfontein, should his contract issues with Mamelodi Sundowns not be resolved before the end of the year.
Masandawana are attempting to tie the player down on a new deal, though have come to terms with the fact that the Zimbabwean star could be on his way out of Chloorkop once his current deal expires. Should it transpire, Billiat will become a free agent at the end of the season.
With that in mind, Wits know that they will be able to open up contract talks with the 27-year-old come the start of January as he enters into the last six months of his deal and possibly persuade him to sign a pre-contract if they can agree on terms.
There have been suggestions that the attacker favours a move overseas rather than to another club in the Absa Premiership, but he will no doubt be willing to assess all of his options before making a decision about where he will be playing his football next year.
Wits, who are the reigning champions in the league and Telkom Knockout at present, have had a tough start to their campaign in 2017/18, but will be looking to improve as 2018 looms on the horizon.
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have also been linked with a move for Billiat, and are believed to be leading the race, but as things stand, there has been no decision made regarding his future.
