Kaizer Chiefs are yet to comment on the reports linking Leonardo Castro with a move to France.
News broke in France that Castro is wanted by Ligue 1 side, Amiens SC, as a possible replacement for Lacina Traore. According to French publication, L’Equipe, the Colombian has been linked with a move to Amiens, the club that Bafana Bafana international Bongani Zungu is contracted to.
Chiefs announced last month that Castro would be joining the club from Mamelodi Sundowns in January, however the 28-year-old is currently in South America and is only expected back in South Africa next week.
Following the news, our source e-mailed Chiefs’ Corporate Communications Manager, Alpheus Vina Maphosa, for comment on the link. Asked to comment on the link, and confirm whether Castro has been registered with Chiefs, Maphosa did not reply.
We will continue to investigate Castro’s link to Amiens further and keep you updated.
