Kaizer Chiefs new signing, Kabelo Mahlasela, has discussed his move from Bloemfontein Celtic to the Amakhosi, admitting that it’s a dream come true.
The Siya crew revealed that Mahlasela had not returned to Celtic this year and that his move to the Soweto giants was on the cards. The Siya crew subsequently revealed that the player was undergoing a medical with Chiefs.
As predicted, Chiefs announced the signing of the 26-year-old on January 03. The player has since discussed his move on the club’s official website.
“This is a dream come true for me and I’m happy that I am part of this big institution. The welcome by the chairman, staff, coaches and teammates has been phenomenal. I am looking forward to engaging with the supporters.”
He added that he is aware of the pressure that comes with playing at a club of Chiefs’ calibre and is adamant about not letting the fans down.
He went on, in part,“I am aware of the pressure that comes with playing for Kaizer Chiefs. The only way to repay those who recommended me to the Kaizer Chiefs management and to keep the supporters happy is to work hard and make sure we do well as a team – this way our names will be added to the glorious history of the club.
“Walking around the offices and seeing the trophies in the cabinet and the professional way the team is run is motivating enough and I will not let anyone down. Supporters play a big role in spurring us on and we know the emotional investment they put in – ours is to deliver so they go home happy.”
