While unmoved in aiming for more success with Mamelodi Sundowns this season, Percy Tau has admitted to being under pressure from the fans’ expectations.

The Sundowns star, who has been one of the most impressive and consistent players in the PSL this season, says he is under pressure from fans who want him to win individual accolades.

Tau has been tipped as a candidate to win this year’s PSL Player of the Season award. However, the 23-year-old says his focus is on helping Sundowns achieve success by winning trophies, including the Absa Premiership title.

“The fans are putting too much pressure on me. I am only really, really looking so much on winning the league. If I can win the Champions League I will also be happy, and the Nedbank,The focus is on what I have now. I try always to focus on that, but the fans also demand something else – which is the Player of the Season award”.

“We’ll see about that one, but I’m really just looking forward to having the PSL medal if it happens, or the Nedbank medal or the Champions League,” concluded the star.
