Amakhosi played nine games without a defeat in all competitions for the first time since last April.

Kaizer Chiefs find themselves on their longest unbeaten run in nearly a year, and Steve Komphela is happy to have extended it against Cape Town City.
The Amakhosi beat City 1-0 over the weekend thanks to another goal from Ryan Moon, with the club going nine games without a defeat in all competitions for the first time since last April.
Chiefs are still four points behind the league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, but their current form does give them a fighting chance of making a late push to knock Masandawana off top spot. Speaking to Chiefs’ official website after their victory on Saturday, Komphela said, “I am happy about hitting this run of form. We went in very well in the first half and we could have been 2-0 up at half-time, but that wasn’t the case.
“We needed to sort out some things during the half-time break. Looking at the chances we got, we should have won 3-0. But we appreciate the win and will continue to improve.” He also had a special word for the Amakhosi faithful, saying, “I am happy for our supporters. They have been loyal and we owe this victory to them.”
Another huge bonus for Komphela is that Chiefs currently have the best defence in the league with just 12 conceded all season, and that steadfast backline could be the key to them pushing Sundowns until the last day.
