Leonardo Castro has dropped a hint to Steve Komphela that he wants to play 90 minutes for Kaizer Chiefs as he targets another Amakhosi goal.
The 28-year-old scored on his debut for the Glamour Boys against Baroka last month but is yet to complete a full game having been brought on or off in all five of his Chiefs appearances so far.
Having started against both Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup and Cape Town City in the Absa Premiership, the Colombian is targeting his first full game for the club when they take on Bloemfontein Celtic.
Speaking to the club’s official website this week, Castro seemed to be giving a nudge to Komphela to give him the chance to finish the match this weekend, although did admit that he understood his slow introduction to the team.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns man said, “I hadn’t played for a while at Sundowns… It means that I was a bit down on confidence, but above all, I lacked match-fitness when arriving at Chiefs.
“However, it’s getting better with each week and I feel close to playing the full 90 minutes. We often get a lot of chances in the last minutes of games. If I am given the chance to finish a match, I know that I will score more goals.”
Chiefs tackle Siwelele at 20h15 tomorrow evening.
