With Highlands Park already planning for life in the PSL, one of the players identified as a potential signing for the club is a goalkeeper from Mamelodi Sundowns.
One of the names that have made it into the transfer wish list of the Lions of the North is that of Thela Ngobeni.
Following the confirmation of their return to South Africa’s top-flight after winning the National First Division, the Gauteng-based club are now in the process of preparing for life back in the big time by looking for players to reinforce their squad for next season.
According to the sources, the club have identified Ngobeni as a potential signing. The shot-stopper, who is expected back at Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of his loan deal with Free State Stars in June, is wanted for a move to the newly-promoted outfit, should they be able to negotiate with the Brazilians for a deal for his services.
“Highlands Park are interested in signing Thela Ngobeni. The negotiations for a possible move of the player to the club are ongoing. It’s likely to happen,” a source told the Siya crew.
According to sources, Ngobeni is believed to be keen on a fresh start for his career away from Sundowns, after struggling for game time throughout his stay there.
