Orlando Pirates have withdrawn their appeal against Tendai Ndoro and Ajax Cape Town. The issue surrounding Ndoro’s status has been dragging on for months now after it emerged that he was playing for his third club in the same season, something that has been questioned based on FIFA rules regarding player eligibility.
Pirates were one of several teams who played under protest against Ajax as they continued to field the player after the Dispute Resolutions Chamber gave them permission to do so, with SuperSport United, Polokwane City and Platinum Stars also filing grievances with the matter.
While there has been no update on SuperSport, Polokwane and Stars, Siya sources have revealed that Pirates – who can no longer win the Absa Premiership or fall out of second place – have withdrawn their complaint and will not be taking it any further.
There is one game left to play in the league this season, with everything still to play for at the bottom as Ajax, SuperSport, Polokwane and Baroka battle it out to avoid finishing in 15th place.
It remains to be seen when the matter will be brought to a close.
