Six Kaizer Chiefs players have one last chance to play a part for the club this season or will go down as having finished the 2017/18 season without playing for the Amakhosi.
The Glamour Boys face Ajax Cape Town in Cape Town on Saturday afternoon as the curtain comes down on the latest campaign, with Emmanuel Letlotlo, Bruce Bvuma, Brylon Petersen, Kabelo Mahlasela, Yusuf Bunting and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo all yet to get on the field.
Mahlasela, who is still nursing a knee injury, is unlikely to feature in the Mother City due to his ailment, while the other five are thought to be injury free and in contention for the squad if Patrick Mabedi looks to call upon them.
Petersen, Bunting and Ngcobo all played their part in helping Chiefs’ reserves lift the MultiChoice Diski Shield last weekend, and will no doubt be chomping at the bit for the chance to play senior football in South Africa’s top flight.
Letlotlo, a player that has been linked with a loan move away next season, is back in full training after a long-term injury and could be given a chance to have a runout as he continues to try and get back his match fitness.
Youngsters such as Wiseman Meyiwa, Siyabonga Ngezana, Khotso Malope and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya all got onto the field, however briefly, this season and Mabedi may want to add to the list of fresh blood being brought through into the Absa Premiership against Ajax.
