A Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper will make his return to the Chloorkop-based club despite being strongly linked with an exit.
Thela Ngobeni, who recently lifted the 2018 Nedbank Cup trophy with Free State Stars, will see his loan stint with Ea Lla Koto come to an end on June.
The player is thereafter set to return to Sundowns for pre-season training ahead of the new 2018/19 campaign, entering the final year of his contract with the Brazilians.
There is still a lot of interest in the 29-year-old goalkeeper, with the source adding that it is possible that Ngobeni could be making the move away from the Chloorkop-based club in the upcoming July/August transfer window.
Sundowns recently exercised the player’s added one-year option, indicating that they will be looking to cash in on his services, despite the player’s lack of game-time at the club.
However, should the Brazilians agree on a permanent transfer of the player, management at Masandawana might settle for a reduced fee, before he is able to put pen to paper on a pre-contract with any interested suitor come January next year and subsequently move on a free at the end of his deal.
Sundowns currently have Denis Onyango, Kennedy Mweene, Brimah Razak and Ngobeni on their books as goalkeepers, with it unlikely that Ngobeni will see regular game-time at the Chloorkop-based club.
