Orlando Pirates are still interested in signing Thulani Hlatshwayo for coach Milutin Sredojevic’s team for the new season.
Despite the fact that the player has recently extended his stay with The Students, The Buccaneers are still linked with the defender, who has been their transfer target for some time in recent seasons.
The centre back is considered as an ideal acquisition for Sredojevic’s squad for the new season, and while the player’s new three-year deal at Wits was confirmed in March, indications are that Bucs are not keen on giving up on the Bafana Bafana international.
According to sources, Bucs could offer players in a potential swap deal in an attempt to land ‘Tyson’ during the July/ August transfer window.
Siya sources have suggested that Pirates could consider offering both Mpho Makola and Thabo Matlaba in their aim to land their long-term target.
News doing the rounds in local football fraternity is that Makola and Matlaba could be part of the changes to take place at the Soweto giants in preparation of the new PSL season.
In August last year, Pirates allowed for their captain at the time, Oupa Manyisa to leave for Mamelodi Sundowns in a transfer that shocked Mzansi.
It is believed that ‘Ace’ could have been the first of a few high-profile players to leave Bucs as months go by, as part of rebuilding under the Serbian coach.
