Swiss will lock horns with Brazil on Sunday evening.

Switzerland captain Stephan Lichtsteiner admits it’s impossible to neutralise Brazil star Neymar for an entire match.

The Swiss take on Brazil in their opening 2018 World Cup clash on Sunday evening.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has looked impressive in recent friendlies, despite just recently recovering from a broken metatarsal.

“Well, I believe it is practically impossible to completely neutralise Neymar over 90 minutes, he’s probably the best and most complete in that position in the world,” the defender told reporters, according to FourFourTwo.

“It’s about using our strengths, our fullbacks as wingers to go forward, as a weapon. We have to be very cohesive as a team and close the gaps when we confront those individual players.

“I don’t think this is the moment to release our strategy, we have to keep it under wraps. But we’re going to be running fast.”
