Maritzburg United have opted against signing Jabulani Shongwe and Tichaona Mabvura, with the duo having now stopped training with the Team of Choice.
The Siya crew reported recently that former Kaizer Chiefs attacker, Edmore Chirambadare, had failed to land himself a contract with Fadlu Davids’ side following his exit from Naturena, with the club said to be wary of filling up their foreign quota.
Mabvura, who hails from Zimbabwe, could have been hindered by the same situation, while Shongwe was just unfortunate not to do enough to impress Davids and his technical team.
Now, with Keagan Buchanan the last remaining of the quartet that started training with the club recently, it looks as thought Maritzburg’s coach is relatively happy with what he has at his disposal going into the 2018/19 campaign.
it was recently revealed that Buchanan – who is a free agent after leaving the Amakhosi – had impressed during his time training in Pietermaritzburg, and he will no doubt be eager to land a deal and get his career back on track after a couple of difficult years.
