“It works and it will work for the task ahead of us.”

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has explained why he wrote instructions down for his players during the league match with SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

Pirates won their first home game of the season thanks to goals from Vincent Pule, Thembinkosi Lorch and Ben Motshwari, with Bongani Khumalo on target for the visitors in Soweto.

Regarding the piece of paper that circulated amongst Bucs’ players, Sredojevic said: “We need to tell you, it is hard in front of the spectators in the heat of the match to deliver the right information.

“We are having some players, including Xola Mlambo here, who are the back bone of the team that fully understand what is supposed to be done.

“So to them it is to deliver the information.

“It works and it will work for the task ahead of us.”

The Sea Robbers, in third place on the log with 10 points from six games, next host Cape Town City on Wednesday.
