Six minutes into the second half, Jemondre Dickens almost levelled matters for Wedson Nyirenda’s troops with a downward header at the back post that unfortunately hit the side-netting.
Dickens should have restored parity four minutes later with a point-blank range header that was brilliantly saved by Keet following a floating cross.
Baroka were made to rue that miss as Deon Hotto doubled the lead for Wits a minute before the hour with a clinical strike at the back post .
Daylon Claasen came close to making it 3-0 for the visitors 21 minutes before time with a curling strike from just outside the box, but Bakgaga shot-stopper Elvis Chipezeze produced a top save.
Sodi eventually pulled a goal back for Bakgaga ten minutes before time with a stunning header inside the box following a good cross from the right wing to set up nervy final few minutes.
However, the Clever Boys managed to see hold out in the closing stages even after nine minutes of time added on to move top of the table.
