The club will make a statement regarding Thuso Phala, at the moment I have no idea what’s going on,” SuperSport United head coach, said when asked about the latest on the 32-year-old’s immediate future at the club.
As reported last week , Phala who is in the final six months of his deal, is believed to be a subject of an internal disciplinary committee hearing at the club, with the player having been out of action since his last league appearance on December 12, last year.
However, with just a few days left of the transfer window, the club is yet to issue an official statement regarding the player’s immediate future at Matsatsantsa, with his head coach revealing that he has ‘no idea what’s going on’.
Phala has been linked with a move away from the Tshwane-based outfit, with the likes of Orlando Pirates believed to be showing interest in the player.
In other matters at the club, SuperSport suffered a 2-0 defeat to Cape Town City on Saturday evening, which saw them eliminated from the Nedbank Cup competition.
Speaking to the media, Head Coach Tembo admitted that his side is lacking in quality in the team, adding that it has been difficult to bring in new signings.
“We lack in depth, in terms of quality. That’s the situation, players are going (Fagrie Lakay) but no players are coming in, it is difficult but as I said, I just have to work with what I have and try to get the best out of the players we have at the moment,” Tembo said.
Lucky Mohomi has been strongly linked with a move to SuperSport, although the Matsatsantsa head coach did not want to indulge too much on that subject.
“I won’t comment about that at the moment because he is a Sundowns player,” he said.
