George Lebese has completed his move to SuperSport United from Mamelodi Sundowns, and his agent has heaped praise on his employers for how they’ve handled the matter.
It was reported earlier today that the 29-year-old attacker was on the verge of joining Matsatsantsa on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season, and the player’s agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, has now confirmed that the deal has been finalised.
Lebese will now be eager to put a tough year behind him as he starts work with Kaitano Tembo and his SuperSport side before returning to Chloorkop at the end of the campaign with hopefully a renewed sense of confidence.
When asked for comment on his dealings with Lebese’s deal, Kapeluschnik told the crew, “I’ve noticed utterances in the media over the past few days about a certain players’ experiences at Mamelodi Sundowns, but I must say that my experience in dealing with them has been totally different.
“In the past week I have engaged with Sundowns on two of my clients in varying circumstances; Anthony Laffor has extended his stay at the club, and George Lebese has been allowed to go on loan to one of the clubs main rivals in order to gain some much-needed game time.
“In both situations the club, and in particular President Patrice Motsepe and head coach Pitso Mosimane, have been extremely professional in their dealings and more specifically in George’s case where the coach showed a proper understanding of the player’s situation and the importance of him getting game time. He both allowed and encouraged the player to go to SuperSport with his full support and blessing.”
Meanwhile, he also confirmed that Laffor – who signed a new deal today – has penned a two-year contract with a one-year option.
