Highlands have signed Rodney Ramagalela on a pre-contract

The Lions of the North put in a decent performance despite a 3-2 loss to Kaizer Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium last Saturday.

Da Gama speaking after the game said the team is still in a learning process.

“Football is a journey and we are still learning, this loss was just another lesson, the team is heading in a good direction and it shows that we are not here to add numbers,” he said

“This season we’ve shown our progress, so far we had 13 man of the match winners in our squad, and in this game [against Chiefs] we had seven debutants, which shows our seriousness when it comes to giving players opportunities and development.”

With seven matches remaining, Highlands Park are knocking on the top eight door as they are in the ninth position, three points behind eighth place after their 2-1 win ver Baroka FC on Saturday.

“We don’t worry about other teams, we are focusing on our game. About the top eight, anything can still happen but our main focus is building for next season, hopefully we will be a better side especially in the final third,” he added.

Highlands have signed Rodney Ramagalela on a pre-contract and last week announced the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits midfielder Jabulani Shongwe.

Da Gama said those signings prove their intention of building for next season.

“As a team we need to grow every season, we want to add value in the PSL and everyone is proud of what we’ve achieved this season,” he concluded.
