Ntokozo Sikhakhane has predicted a victory for Kaizer Chiefs in their upcoming cup match against Cape Town City.
Chiefs will welcome City at the Mbombela Stadium in their Nedbank Cup quarter-final match on Sunday.
Sikhakhane, who played for Chiefs under their current head coach Ernst Middendorp during the German mentor’s first stint with the Soweto giants, says the tactician knows that he is now a step closer to marking his return to the club with success by adding a piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet.
However, Sikhakhane knows that Chiefs lost to coach Benni McCarthy’s side the last time they played, during their second round league match at FNB Stadium in January.
“Chiefs will advance to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup. Some people may doubt what I am saying, but I am telling you that’s what is going to happen. I can even put my money on that game. They (Cape Town City) won’t beat Chiefs twice in a row. I know that team (Chiefs), I grew up there,” said Sikhakhane.
Chiefs defeated two ABC Motsepe League sides in Tornado FC and The Magic FC to reach this year’s quarter-finals of the competition.
“There’s one thing that you must know, they (Chiefs) want at least one cup this season. They have one leg in the Nedbank Cup and another leg in the Absa Premiership. But their chances of winning the Absa Premiership are not so good, but in the Nedbank Cup anything can still happen. They might get an NFD team between Cape Umoya and TS Galaxy in the semi-finals. I see something for Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup,” added Sikhakhane
