Two South African players locked horns in England

Two South African players locked horns in England yesterday evening as Leicester City took on Scunthorpe United in a preseason friendly.

Khanya Leshabela, who is just 19, is currently training with the Foxes’ senior team as they prepare for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, while Kgosi Ntlhe is a new signing for the Irons as they look to book promotion back into League One.

Leshabela was busy in the first half as Leicester managed to get the one goal that eventually won the game, and only came off in the 66th-minute after picking up a minor injury.

Ntlhe, meanwhile, finished the full 90 minutes as he continues to get time under his belt with his new employers after he moved on from Rochdale earlier this month.

Next up for the duo are games against Cheltenham Town and West Bromwich Albion respectively, and the South Africans will be eager to land a spot in the starting line-up once again as the season draws closer.

Both players have been in England since youth, therefore have no issues playing in the country while others struggle with the work permit situation.
