Steve ‘Chippa’ Lekoelela has advised the new Orlando Pirates players to help the team with better performances in their upcoming matches.
The Buccaneers have endured a difficult period due to their loss of form so far this season. Since winning their first match of the season against Bloemfontein Celtic at the beginning of the month, Bucs lost three matches in succession and drew two in the different competitions.
The team was knocked out of the MTN8 and CAF Champions League respectively. Lekoelela says the new players should up their game to help the team to improve their results.
“Pirates is a big team and you know they don’ have patience. They want to win always. That’s nothing new, it’s something that the club has always be known for over the years,” said Lekoelela.
“Even if a player is new at the club he is expected to perform immediately. There is never enough time for a player to gel. At Pirates players are expected to arrive ready to perform. You don’t want to be told by the coach that you have to pull up your socks. You make a mistake and you are out,” the former crowd-puller added.
