AmaZulu wellcomed their new coach

They only parted ways with Cavin Johnson a few days ago, but AmaZulu have already made an announcement on their new head coach for the season.

Usuthu confirmed early this morning (Wednesday) that former Polokwane City head coach, Jozef Vukusic, was back in the country and had penned a deal with the club to take over as Johnson’s successor, and will now meet his new players after finalising his move.

The Slovakian has penned a three year-deal with AmaZulu after terms were agreed for him to take the club forward in 2019/20, and they will be hoping that he can emulate some of the success that he achieved during his first season in the Absa Permiership with Rise & Shine.

A statement from the club read, “We wish to welcome Jozef Vukusic who will take over as Head Coach with immediate effect. The 55 year old Slovakian born coach is due to arrive in Durban this afternoon and be introduced to team on Thursday morning.”

It remains to be seen how long it will take for the 55-year-old to obtain his work permit and get on the bench for his new employers, though he will be hoping to do so in time for their next game – a big clash with South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs
