Middendorp had a message for the supporters who still doubt the abilities of Daniel Akpeyi.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Ernst Middendorp had a message for the supporters who still doubt the abilities of Daniel Akpeyi.

The Nigerian replaced the injured Itumeleng Khune after 26 minutes and put on a Man-of-the match display to help Chiefs claim a 1-0 win over Baroka on Saturday night.

Akpeyi had a few shaky spells between the sticks for Chiefs, but Middendorp feels his shot-stopper deserves the support of everybody.“I think the change of Daniel for Itu was unbelievable fantastic. I think if the supporters still doubt the qualities of Daniel Akpeyi, then I can’t help them,” Middendorp told SuperSport  “I think he fully deserves the support of everybody. It was a fantastic performance coming in from nowhere.”

The Soweto giants will now turn their attention to Tuesday’s Absa Premiership encounter with Golden Arrows as they look to cement spot heading into the international break.
