Two Absa Premiership clubs are in talks with Kaizer Chiefs over signing one of their players in the January transfer window, but only time will tell where he ends up…
Kabelo Mahlasela is a player who many Amakhosi supporters were excited to see make the move to Naturena when he joined in 2018, however he has been dealt with some cruel luck over the last couple of seasons and wasn’t able to hit his stride.
Now, with the January transfer window having officially opened up, the 28-year-old could be on his way out of in the next couple of weeks, with his former club, Bloemfontein Celtic, as well as Polokwane City both looking to possibly bring him on board as a new addition.
Tshepo Mabona, of Viasport Agency, explained to the Siya crew this week, “Kabelo is in a position now where he needs to be playing, and Kaizer Chiefs have been very understanding of his situation. Both Celtic and Polokwane are currently talking to the club, and only when – or if – an agreement is reached there can we look at the next step.”
The tricky attacker made a name for himself at Royale Eagles before taking on the Absa Premiership with Siwelele for a couple of seasons, and he’ll be itching to show the South African public that he’s still got what it takes to perform at the top level if given the chance.
