Chiefs have confirmed the absence of three players in today’s match

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that they will be without three first team players for today’s clash against Cape Town City, but they could welcome back one key performer.

The Glamour Boys go into their encounter with the Citizens knowing that they could extend their lead over Mamelodi Sundowns to nine points after Masandawana missed out on Absa Premiership action to qualify for the CAF Champions League knockout stages yesterday, and will be hoping that SuperSport United drop points.

Ernst Middendorp isn’t exactly at full strength though, and Chiefs explained on their official website that the likes of Khama Billiat, Bruce Bvuma and Lazalous Kambole are all out of this afternoon’s games ‘due to an assortment of injuries’, though it appears that Reeve Frosler could return after a hamstring problem kept him out of the win over Highlands.

Though the club confirmed that all three were out due to their respective niggles, Middendorp isn’t too concerned, saying, “We have options and the players are ready to do the business for us. I’m happy with the preparations. The players have responded very well during our preparation.”

Middendorp’s side host Cape Town City this afternoon at 15h30, with the game taking place at FNB Stadium.
