Lucky Lekgwathi ,fix the problem of Thembinkosi Lorch

Former Orlando Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi has challenged the club’s senior players to fix the problem of Thembinkosi Lorch, and tells them how to do it.

Lekgwathi says he would be protecting Lorch from the wrath of The Ghost if he were still playing today.

Last season’s PSL Footballer of the Season has been a huge disappointment to the Buccaneers faithful this season after a failed overseas move appeared to disturb the player’s focus.

Lekgwathi, who fully understands the pressure of rocking the black and white jersey, agrees the talk about him moving to Europe might have contributed to him losing concentration and believes it can happen to any top player.

“Lorch right now needs a senior player around him to speak to him and remind him about the importance and honour of representing Orlando Pirates.

“If he allows whatever is in his mind [to stay], it affects his game and not all supporters understand your pain. They want results and they will always judge you on your performance.”

Lekgwathi says he wishes he were still playing so that he could advise Lorch on how to deal with his challenges and help him become more consistent.

“I feel his pain,” the former skipper admits. “Whenever your supporters are against you it’s always hard for any player. Sometimes I wish I was still playing so I can be next to him and protect him.”
