AmaZulu Defender Tapelo Xoki is worried about facing relegation with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.
The fight against relegation is set to continue for the Durban-based side should the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season resume.
Usuthu are 15th on the log with only six victories from 24 matches, and the Khayelitsha-born player says the team’s position is worrying.
“It has not been easy for us as footballers especially in the beginning. As footballers, we are used to going out and play football and get to smell the grass and rain. We had to stay at home and exercise which is something we were not used to, but we had to adjust to the situation,” the centre-back said, and speaking to AmaZulu’s official website.
“The fact that we are in the 15th spot left a bitter taste in our mouths because it doesn’t sit well with us when we look at the log. It has been at the back of my mind throughout this situation, but we understand that we have to comply with the lockdown regulations and avoid risking lives,” the 25-year-old added.
