Black Leopards spokesperson Barry Ramunenyiwa confirmed to the Siya crew that Lidoda Duvha are officially searching for a new coach having mutually terminated Patrick Aussems’s contract after the Belgian was in charge of three matches and lost all of them.
“It’s official since yesterday that the coach has parted ways with the club and we are looking for a new coach to take over as soon as possible,” said Ramunenyiwa.
He would not reveal who would succeed Aussems, but the Siya crew has it on good authority – and it has also been widely speculated – that Kerr will be appointed soon.
Kerr was himself let go by Baroka FC last Friday after he was first suspended for “insubordination and bringing the club into disrepute”.
He would be no stranger to Leopards – he coached Lidoda Duvha from November 2018 to May 2019 before resigning.
“We will now look to the list of candidates we already had when we initially appointed him (Aussems) and we are confident we will make that appointment soon. We’ve had a lot of other interest in the country and internationally. But this shouldn’t take long because we really have to make sure the team is led by the new coach as soon as possible. I think within a matter of days we should have concluded talks,” Ramunenyiwa explained.
