Benni McCarthy, who secured his first victory at the helm of AmaZulu FC on the weekend, has shared a special message to the football
Benni McCarthy’s Wishes For The Festive Season fraternity.
The 43-year-old head coach made his return to Mzansi this month after more than a year since his last time on the touchline, where he was in charge of Cape Town City.
After receiving a warm welcome back to South Africa’s top-flight, McCarthy has voiced appreciation to the football fraternity who continued to get behind him as a young, local coach.
“Thank you very much, I know that it is a strange year that we have to do this (conference) via Skype or (Zoom) but I appreciate what you have done and the nice welcomes that I have received and also the positivity that I have gotten in my first game in charge and the win. So I want to thank you guys for the support and for also always saying the right things when it comes to me and what I have achieved because you could easily say that I am an inexperienced rookie coach and there are better coaches out there but you guys support the locals and the young coaches so yes I am grateful for that,” McCarthy told the media after his side’s 3-1 win over Chippa United in the DStv Premiership.
“I wish you guys a splendid Christmas and New Year and I am super excited to start when the season reopens and just continue on this brilliant run that we are on. One game and one win, three goals scored. Hopefully, this is the beginning of something very special. In the kingdom of the Zulus. Hebe Usuthu.”
